On Spring Bank Holiday Monday 27 May 2019 the popular Pershore Carnival will again fill the town and this year the theme is “Fairytales”.
Local businessman Harry Christodoulou of Newlands Fish Bar is a great supporter of the Carnival and wanted to do something to help raise some funds. He generously donated an Easter Egg Hamper and a fish supper and sold raffle tickets to his customers. The raffle raised an incredible £300. The draw was made on Good Friday and the 2 winners were notified immediately.
Every year the Carnival Committee has to raise enough money to stage this popular event. Chairman, Colin Shepherd, said “It is such a help when local businesses want to get involved and support our fundraising efforts so that we can put on a good show for the people of Pershore and our visitors. We are very grateful to Harry and his family for their support”.
