On 26th February, we held our Royalty event to select our King, Queen, Prince and Princess for 2017.
We are very grateful to Councillor Bob Bill Gillmor, Mayor of Pershore and his Lady Consort Miss Sandra Young who judged the event. The winners and Royalty for 2017 will each receive a Royal pamper session on the morning of Carnival sponsored by The Hair End Pershore.
We're proud to announce that the 2017 Pershore Carnival Royalty are:
King Corley Frost age 9 (Abbey Park First)
Queen Kayleigh Cottrill age 9 (Abbey Park Middle)
Prince Riley Rusher age 8 (Pinvin First School)
Princess Rosie Barnett age 6 (Holy Redeemer)
Lily Rusher (age 6 Pinvin First School), Maisie Bicker (age 6 Cherry Orchard First School) and Rhys Samuel (age 7 Holy Redeemer School) were also appointed to the new and very important role of Special Ambassador to Pershore Carnival.
The Ambassadors are the legacy of Carnival. We want to inspire today’s children so that they will get involved when they are older, ensuring that Carnival will continue for generations to come.
We hope that our Royalty are looking forward to their big day as much as we are and thank all the children and parents who entered - we hope you come again next year!
The next scheduled Carnival event is the Children’s Programme Cover Competition which will run from Saturday 11th March – 18th at Pershore library where budding artists can drop in and have a go at designing the front cover based on the 2017 theme “The World of Music”. We're really looking forward to seeing the entries this year - there is so much talent among the children in Pershore schools and villages around.
